1. Immediately After the Tattoo

Second Skin Application: Your artist will apply a  Derm Shield or similar protective film.

How long to keep it on: Leave it on for 3 to 5 days unless it starts peeling off early or you experience irritation.

What to expect: Some plasma and ink buildup under the film is expected. If excessive fluid collects or leaks out, remove it sooner.

2. Removing the Second Skin  (Day 3-5)

Remove it carefully: In the shower with warm water, loosen the adhesive and avoid discomfort.

Wash the tattoo with fragrance-free soap and warm water, using only your fingertips.

Pat dry with a paper towel, gently dabbing (do not rub).

Apply a thin layer of moisturizer such as fragrance-free water-based lotion.

3. First Week After Removing the Film

Wash the tattoo three times a day with mild soap.

Apply a thin layer of moisturizer after each wash.

Avoid tight clothing or friction on the tattooed area.

Do not expose the tattoo to direct sunlight.

Do not touch or scratch if the skin starts peeling.

Do not submerge the tattoo in water (no pools, ocean, or long baths).

Avoid saunas, steam rooms, and hot tubs/spas, as the heat and moisture can interfere with healing.
